Wooden Key Chain

I would be totally lost without my oversized keychain (I still lose my keys more often than I’d like to admit)! And therein lies the beauty of the DIY wooden keychain: you can make it as big as you want!

It’s a great craft for kids and adults, or a fun project together!

What do you need;

  • Wooden Blocks: You can buy them at the store or you can make them yourself because it’s very, very easy. I haven’t used a saw since I was a kid and managed to make a ton of blocks in no time (which we’ll be using in future projects too!).
  • Sandpaper to sharpen the edges
  • white color (or any other color your heart desires)
  • permanent marks
  • something to drill the hole (I used a dremel rotary tool)

Wherever you have your blocks of wood, sand the edges first (you can also sand the surface to make it super smooth, but I liked the texture the way it was).

Color the surface and let it dry. After drying, drill a hole.

Now that your surface is complete, it’s time to get creative and draw a design or two (or ten).

You can also finish off this project by applying a gloss varnish to give it shine.
