How to unlock the Grand Underground
You unlock the Explorer kit in Eternal City – In fact, you can’t leave town without getting it and learning how to use it. The old man who distributes the Explorer Kit is in a house next to the Pokémon Center.
How to build a secret base
You can place a base on any wall in the Grand Underground as long as you have one. drill excavator. After you dig up treasure for the first time, you can return to the old man in the Eternal City and he will give you an Excavator Drill to build a base. Press A on a wall to open up a huge cave in which to build your base.
Once you’ve built your base, you can place each one statues that you dig inside to decorate. These statues increase the frequency with which certain Pokémon appear in the Great Underground.
Legendary Pokémon statues have the strongest effect, Shiny statues have a strong effect, and Normal statues have an average effect.
How to dig for treasure and statues in the Grand Underground
You’ll see bright spots marked on your map. When you get closer you can press R Use your radar which pinpoints the location of the treasure on a nearby wall.
Just like in the original games, you can use the heavy hammer or delicate pickaxe to dig up treasures Pokemon bright diamond Y shiny pearl. Be careful though: if you dug too far, the wall will collapse.
Use the hammer to find the treasure, and then switch to the beak to carefully dig it up.
How to find Pokemon in the Great Underground
There is a lot rare Pokemon in Grand Underground that were not in the original games. If you want a Magnemite, Togepi, Ralts or any other Pokemon that were in the platinum Pokédex, the Great Underground is your place to search.
These Pokémon are located in their respective biomes, called pokemon hide. For example, you can find Ralts in light caves, Togepi in lush springs, and Magnemites in dark caves.
You can find some rare Pokemon early on, but many spawns are locked from progression. Even more Pokémon appear after unlocking the National Pokédex.
What are Diglett and Dugtrio doing in the Grand Underground?
You’ll notice it when you run amateur Y Dugtrio sit at intersections. If you approach them they will run away leaving some behind pink glitter. Collecting glitter fills a meter on the left side of the screen. Once the meter fills up, a prompt will appear saying “Something good is about to happen!”.
With this bonus you are more likely to reveal special glowing green statues of the walls and you will have doubles the chance of finding a Shiny Pokémon underground. This effect wears off after about four minutes.
