Simple Paper Bat Craft

This is a great Halloween craft for kids and is easy to make in the classroom – economical, quick, and fun. You can also hang them up and create a cool decoration for the classroom.

Bats make a wonderful fall or Halloween craft theme. These mammals are among the most fascinating because they can fly like birds. Isn’t it fascinating?

This craft idea is really easy, and since you only use paper (and possibly googly eyes or stickers), it’s also really frugal. You can also use this to make a recycled craft, just use old paper and have the kids paint it black before they start making their bats.

How to make a simple paper bat craft?

What do you need:

• black paper
• White paper
• scissors
• the glue
• optional: googly eyes or eye stickers

Step by step guide

Start by cutting two wide strips of black paper. Approximately 2 inches / 5 cm and full width of a letter / A4 size sheet.

That’s all the black paper we need to make this bat craft.

Take one of the strips and add some glue to one end.

Join the ends to make a paper roll. Let the glue harden.

Fold the other strip of paper in half.

Separate the wings.

Fold the wing over the end closest to the body and apply glue.

Glue the wings to the paper roll.

Cut two ears from the black paper you got when cutting out the wings and glue them to the top of the roll (inside).

Next, cut two long triangles out of white paper and glue them onto the bat.

Also add two googly eyes.
