We’ve already shared two Easter crafts similar to this one, the simple scrap paper bunny and the chicks, and since you loved them so much we wanted to share another version, this one that easily stands on its own.

So, we have the adorable little chick…

And the cute bunny (which gets even cuter when you put a big bobble on it).

Such a fun little Easter activity.

How to make this easy Easter craft using construction paper

What do you need

  • our printable DIY template (optional, you can get it at the end of the tutorial)
  • yellow and orange craft paper for chicks
  • white construction paper rabbit
  • markings
  • scissors
  • Glue (glue dots for young hobbyists)
  • wavy or googly-eyed stickers

See tutorial

We’ll show you how to complete this project without our template.

You can use an everyday object: a bowl, lid, or even a compass to turn your chick. Trace the round object onto yellow construction paper (or white if you’re making a bunny, well, or some other matching colored bunny).

Cut strips of paper. They should be about a “finger” wide, but there’s nothing wrong with wider or thinner strips: younger children will find wider strips easier to handle, while older children will find thinner strips of paper.

Take a strip of paper, fold and fold both ends and glue it to the base of the circle, making an arc.

Continue with other strips of paper. Most of them will be very easy to glue, but the last one can be a bit tricky! Glue dots are super helpful here.

Cut out all the necessary decorations: the rabbit’s beak, wings or ears, nose and paws. Don’t forget to color the inner part of the bunny ear.

Insert all parts in their designated places.

Don’t forget to add the eyes! Stick on two googly or googly eye stickers.
