Resolve in Rogue Legacy 2, explained

Resolution is a confusing but necessary value Rogue Heir 2, as it essentially limits the number of relics you can carry. Our Rogue Heir 2 The Resolve Guide explains how Resolve works and what you can do to improve it.

What is resolution?

Resolve is the small value next to the glowing white flame in the top left corner of the screen and represents your heir’s confidence in your own abilities. The higher the value, the more confident they will be.

The non-traditional meaning is that between armor and relics, your heir’s resolve will decrease the more equipped you have.

If your resolution is less than 100%, your heir will lose Max HP by an equal percentage. You start the game with a resolution of 225% by default.

What affects the resolution?

You can increase your starting resolution with the Psychiatrist upgrade in the skill tree, and several other upgrades improve things that passively affect resolution, like armor weight and relic resolution costs.

Wearing too much armor directly decreases your resolve as well as relic recovery, which generally has a resolve cost. The closer your character gets to their maximum armor weight, the less resolution they will have.

However, you’ll need to figure out how to adjust your playstyle accordingly without sacrificing resolution too much.

If you’re rarely hit by enemies, it may be worth dropping your resolution below 100% for additional abilities to clear rooms and challenges. However, if you are damage-prone, you should focus on armor to reduce HP loss.
