Re-evolve Basculin into Basculegion Pokémon Legends: Arceus, must take recoil damage. Our Pokemon Legends: Arceus Basculin Evolution Guide explains how to evolve Basculin into Basculegion.

How to evolve Basculin into Basculegion

According to our testing, Basculin evolved through exercise At least 260-300 recoil damage. To evolve yours, take your Basculin to an area with weaker Pokemon and let it use it wave action or then double edged until you get the notification that you can scale it.

Knockback damage isn’t required in combat, so heal your Basculin as needed.

Explain our methods

Curiously, the amount it needed before it could evolve was different in all three tests.

Our first two basculinos were men and the third one was a woman. We do not use strong or agile style movements. We use a mix of Wave Crash and Double-Edge as they both deal recoil damage.

Our first Basculin took 267 damage before being told we could evolve it. The second Basculin received 296 damage. The third received 302 damage before receiving the evolution notice. Each attack dealt about 15-20 recoil damage to our Basculin.

We fought weak Pokemon so our Basculin could hit all opponents with his knockback move. Basculin #1 required 10 fights to evolve, Basculin #2 required 14, and Basculin #3 required 16.

Other sources like Serebii.net and Bulbapedia state that Basculin should take 294 recoil damage, which contradicts our own data. However, we haven’t quite figured out the magic number for Basculin’s advancement yet, as it has an impact factor that we can’t quite see.
