Pokémon Go Misunderstood Mischief Hoopa quest guide

Pokemon goThe final Special Research task in Misunderstood Mischief involves the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa. In our Pokemon go we list the steps and rewards for completing the Hoopa quest as well as tips on how to complete the quests.

Hoopa is actually unlocked fairly early in this quest line and his second form is not found during the special quest. All quest steps have been slowly shifted over time, although they have now been added to the game.

Hoopa Research Step 1 of 16

• Make 10 pretty throws (1 incense)
• Use Incense (10 Poké Balls)
• Snap 3 wild Psychic-type Pokémon (10 Nanab Berries)

Reward: Gothita encounter, 1000 XP, 500 Stardust

Hoopa Research Step 2 of 16

• Claim a Reward (720 Stardust)

Reward: 720 XP

Hoopa Research Step 3 of 16

• Execute 5 Curveball throws (15 Pokéballs)
• Catch 10 different types of Pokémon (15 big balls)
• Earn 5,000 Stardust (max 3 revives)

Reward: Hoopa encounter, 1000 XP, 1000 Stardust

• Claim a Reward (720 Stardust)

• Power up Pokémon 10 times (15 Great Balls)
• Catch 20 Psychic-type Pokémon (Abra encounter)
• Evolve 3 Psychic-type Pokémon (10 revives)

Reward: Wobbuffet encounter, 10 Hyper Potions, 10 Ink Candy

• Take a Snap of Your Friend (Furfrou Encounter)
• Catch a Furfroo (1 quick TM)
• Earn a heart with your friend (1 charged TM)

Reward: Meet Minccino, 1 Unova Stone, 15 Furfrou Candies

• Make 3 Nice Curve Ball Tosses (20 Slowpoke Candy)
• Transfer 30 Pokemon (Galarian Slowpoke Encounter)
• Evolve a Slowpoke (1990 XP)

Reward: Shedinja encounter, 5 Max Potion, 40 Slowbro Mega Energy

• Earn 3 candies walking with your friend (10 Yamask candies)
• Catch 30 Ghost-type Pokémon (10 Ghost Candy)
• Catch 30 Dark-type Pokémon (10 Pumpkaboo Candy)

Reward: Halloween costume meets Pikachu, 15 Ultra Balls, 40 Gengar Mega Energy

Hoopa Research Step 13 of 16

• Finding a New Friend (Meditating Encounter)
• Send 10 Gifts to Friends (Chinchou Encounter)
• Use 20 berries to catch Pokemon (2 silver pineapple berries)

Reward: 1 Poffin, 10 Dedenne Candy, find Blitzle

Removing and adding a friend again will complete the friendship requirement without losing friendship progress.
