Since you loved our heart flower template crafts so much I decided this should be a series of sorts and I already have some fun flip cards that open (lovely drawn).

I figured I’d start with something simple and seasonal, so another flower was fine, this time a tulip.

They are easy to fold and if you write a nice note inside, they will make the most beautiful cards for your friends, family or teachers.

Are you ready to make a bouquet of paper tulips? Let’s cut and fold!

Watch the video tutorial on how to make paper tulip flowers

Or follow this step-by-step folding guide

Print our model on regular printing paper.

If you are printing on white paper, color the flower before cutting it.

Cut out the tulip flower template.

*

Fold it in half as shown in the image below. Unpacking.

*

Fold in half (perpendicular to the previous fold) as shown in the image below. Unpacking.

*

Fold as shown in the image below.

*

Write a message or draw a picture on the flower.

*

Now comes the hard part (I recommend watching the video for this part).

Look at the last crease you made, the one that folds the tulip flower in half. You should push this crease “into the tulip”. One page first.

*

And then the other.

*

If you did it correctly, you should see a tulip-shaped flower.

*

Paint the staff green. Let the paint dry.

Apply a small amount of glue to one end.

*

Press the folded paper tulip onto the glue stick.

Let the glue harden a bit (press with your fingers).

*

There is an additional printable sheet full of butterflies that you can use, especially if you printed on colored paper.

Color and cut out one of the butterflies.

*

Glue the butterfly to a clip or mini clothespin.

*

Tie the butterfly to the flower; This keeps the flower closed.

*

Now for the finishing touches, cut out a sheet of green paper and glue it onto the paper tulip flower craft.
