Paper Pumpkin Craft

We love when crafts are quick and fun, which is why this paper pumpkin craft is one of our favorites this season! Easy paper crafts are great for all ages, preschoolers and kindergarteners can practice their scissor skills while older kids have fun making tons of fall pumpkin decorations.

What do you need

  • orange paper (plain or construction paper)
  • green paper (same)
  • black cardboard (optional)
  • scissors
  • Glue

Step 1

Cut orange paper into thin strips, you will need 4 per pumpkin (more or less depending on how you want your pumpkin to look and how wide your strips are)

step 2

Glue two strips together, adding glue in the middle and forming a cross.

step 3

Glue two more strips in the same way and glue them to the first cross at a 45 degree angle as you can see in the picture below.

step 4

Now take the bottom strip, connect the ends and glue them together to form a circle.

Take the second “bottom” strip, just one end, and glue it to the first circle. Repeat with all of the other strips until you have a nice orange ball.

step 6

Cut the green leaf out of green paper and glue it on top. If you plan to display your paper pumpkin craft, we recommend putting a small rock or coin (below) inside to keep it from wobbling or moving in the wind.
