What do you need

  • paper plates
  • cotton balls
  • white school glue
  • Stapler (optional)
  • Red color
  • brush
  • scissors

*

Paint the paper plate red. Allow the pain to dry before proceeding.

*

Cut the paper plate in half. A paper plate makes 2 Santa hats.

*

Make a cone with the paper plate craft. You can use glue (you will need to hold it together for a while for the glue to set) or you can use a staple gun (not recommended for young children, adult supervision is always required).

*

Now that you have your cone, apply a liberal amount of glue to the top and press 1 cotton ball into the top. Allow the glue to dry a bit before proceeding. Apply a generous amount of glue to the bottom of your cone all the way around.

*

Cut the cotton balls into strips and glue them to the cone. Make sure you go all the way around. Allow the glue to set before putting the head on.

*

Tips: You can use the hole punch to punch two holes and add some zing to keep the hats on the little heads.

*

Don’t they look festive? We are sure they will be a beautiful and craft project at a classroom Christmas party and the kids will love using them. You can even have a fake Christmas beard made to match the hats. They would even return some of the green hats to have a bunch of elves at the party too!
