Paper Plate Christmas Tree Crafts

This can easily be a family project, it’s quick, easy and inexpensive. A paper plate makes 2 trees, and you can easily replace the pom poms and yarn with other scrap materials you already have around the house. Who makes the most beautiful tree?

  Summer Crafts

It is also a good classroom craft for kindergarten and preschool. Give students as many materials as possible so they can create their unique tree.

What do you need:

  • paper plates
  • green colour
  • Paintbrush (we love sponge brushes when it comes to coloring large areas)
  • regular or sparkly pom poms
  • thread
  • white school glue
  • scissors

Paint the paper plate green. Allow the paint to dry before proceeding.

Once the paint is dry, cut the paper plate in half.

Make a cone. You can use glue or a stapler when the older kids are making their Christmas tree out of paper plates.

Decorate your Christmas tree with yarn and pom poms. White school glue works like a charm here. We love how the sparkly pom pom shimmers on the tree.
