These little ones will look cute in your house.

Monster Painted Rocks

What do you need:

  • Rocks you picked up either on your hike or at the craft/dollar store
  • Acrylic paints (white, black and colored)
  • to brush
  • pencil with eraser

First clean the stones, removing dust and dirt. Once they are clean and dry, paint them with acrylic paints. Depending on the brand and color, you may need to apply multiple coats (for example, I had to apply one coat of blue but multiple coats of yellow). Let the paint dry.

Now it’s time to work on the eyes. We made the eyes with a pencil using an eraser. Dip the eraser in white paint and press it onto the grinding wheel. Beautiful eyes everywhere. After the white paint dries, add a black stain. Continue creating your monster by adding more facial details: mouths, teeth, tongues, scars…

If you’re only using acrylic paints these babies are good to go, otherwise you might want to use clear coat to seal the colors and make these painted monster rocks waterproof.
