How to Make Pasta Necklaces

Learn how to make noodle chains, a great activity when you have noodles that are past their use by date.

When it comes to pasta beads, we think it’s best for kids to decorate their own pasta beads so they aren’t pre-colored.

love noodles What are your favorite pasta shapes? We love the spirals very much, they are super delicious.

Any paste that has a hole in the middle can also be used as a cool bead for the coolest DIY bracelet.

How to make pasta chains

What do you need:

  • Insert tubes
  • elastic thread
  • Choice of acrylic paints
  • Wooden beads of your choice (optional)
  • brush
  • scissors

Step by step instructions


Start painting the paste with acrylic paint (we used a red paint for this project). Roll them in paint or use a brush.

You can dye your noodles any color you want and use any noodle shape you want.

You can add details like dots, stripes, and triangles with a brush. Use your creativity.


Measure the correct length of wire for your necklace.

After that, start threading a tube of paste, then add two beads and repeat this step…


…until you run out of space to thread more pasta onto the wire.

You can cut a longer piece of yarn and thread tubes of noodles over and over again to make a longer necklace that you can wrap around your neck several times.


Tie a tight knot at the end.


Is over ! You just learned how to make noodle chains.
