You can ask them to stick the flower on the bottom of a card and make a beautiful origami card.

We recommend using origami paper for any folding project, but you can use regular printing paper and even let the kids decorate their own if you choose our printable template.

Prepare two origami papers, one small and one large. We offer you a model with the dimensions that we used in our tutorial (you can find it at the end of this tutorial).

We’ve also prepared a printable chart so you can print out your origami and have it bloom wherever you want (also great if you’re doing it in class). This can also be found at the end of this tutorial.

How to make an easy origami tulip flower

Start by making an origami tulip flower. Fold the paper in half diagonally to form the triangle (the colored side of the paper faces out).

Fold it in half again just to make the crease in the center of your triangle and unfold.

Take a corner, we’ll start on the right and fold it up, not right in the middle, but at a slight angle.

Do the same with the other side.

Your tulip bloom is almost done, just a few “beautiful” details left. Turn your flower over and fold the side corners; This will make the shape of your flower more defined.

Do it on both sides and voila!

If you are making this origami flower with younger children, stop here because the stem is a little further forward.

How to make an easy origami flower stem

Start by folding a larger sheet of green origami paper diagonally into a triangle, unfold. We did this step to mark the middle of the diagonal.

Fold the corners to the center (the center is indicated by the diagonal crease you made earlier).

Fold the two corners to the middle. Make neat and clean folds.

Then fold the two new corners you got in the previous step to the middle.

Again, make sure the folds are nice and neat.

Your form should now look like this.

Do you see the two new corners? We need to fold these two in half again. Nice and simple.

Fold both and this is the shape you should see.

Almost there! You need to fold your diamond in two steps by bringing the top and bottom corners together.

Close it: fold the shape in half (the smaller part should be on the inside)

Complete! All that’s left is to push out the inner “beak” a little and run your fingers through any folds to make them super crispy.

How to assemble the origami tulip

This part isn’t exactly origami as there are some minor cuts, but that’s what it takes to put these two parts together to create the most wonderful origami flower.Snip off a small amount from the bottom of your origami tulip flower. Make the flower slightly longer (you can do this by simply pressing with your finger from the top so that the hole widens a bit).

Push the flower up the stem. Complete! Your origami tulip is ready to be displayed.

The flower can be easily removed from the stem, if you want a more permanent solution a little glue will do.
