How to drive like a winner in PUBG

One of the strongest weapons Battlegrounds by Playerunknown it is the front bumper of a high speed car. One of the deadliest places. playerunknopeown battlefields sits in the driver’s seat. Here’s how to kill more and die less battlefields‘, on PC and Xbox One.

boy where’s my car

Don’t choose just any old crossroads. This one, near the southeast corner of the map, has three streets nearby, and a UAZ is parked right in the corner.
PUBG Corporation.

The first step is to find a car. They appear randomly on the map, so finding one can be a bit of a craps game. They can show up in garages but are mostly parked along the street. My recommendation is to jump out of the cargo plane and aim for any intersection. But don’t end up in the middle and expose yourself. Land on either side of the larger highway and traverse the country parallel to it, crossing smaller arterial roads along the way. Keep your head spinning and you’ll probably get lucky.

You can also use an interactive map, but some might consider this a scam. I know what I am doing.

A word of warning, don’t jump in the parachute too early and enjoy the views on the descent. It makes you a great target.

Enter keyboard battlefields very similar to the model weapon 3. Suffice it to say, it’s awful. To rotate left and right you need to press the A and D keys when you are on PC. Any more than that and you will likely lose control.

Ideally, you want to have a controller configured. By default, the left stick controls the throttle and brake, and the right stick controls the camera. Just leave the right stick alone. Head into settings, assign boost to a face button, and you’re good to go.

The Boost hotkey is located on PC under the Controls tab in the Settings menu.

Now that things can go fast, you can also get some air. Gasping for air is fun but also makes you a huge target, like a roaring slab of clay floating in a predictable arc. There you can get shot from the driver’s seat just as easily as on the ground, maybe even more.

Just before going up a hill, turn off the throttle. (It’s actually easier with a keyboard, so it’s my preferred control scheme for driving, but your mileage will vary.) This keeps the wheels on the ground and you maintain control of the vehicle on the reverse incline.

drive relaxed

Don’t casually drive around the map looking for a place to go. Don’t even get in a car until you’ve decided where you want to go on the map.

If you see a car out in the open after the initial drop and insane sprint, it could very well be a trap: a lure meant to lure you in for a simple headshot.

As soon as you see a car, take cover. Survey the area. Look at the base of trees, in windows, and do your due diligence to make sure no one is looking at you. Then go to your map, mark a place. If you have smoke, throw it straight at the vehicle and run away. Take it, step on the gas and don’t look back.

When you hear gunshots, go left and right and keep walking. If possible, stay off the roads and do not drive through large settlements. You’re only making yourself a target. Go overland, preferably in the middle of a wooded hill, to minimize your exposure to enemy fire. The hill protects you on one side and the tree cover protects you on the other side. The only disturbance you need to worry about is between the trees that immediately surround you.

arms and legs in the vehicle

Of course, not all vehicles are the same. Some are faster, some slower, and some offer more protection than others.

The UAZ is a decent vehicle to launch an attack on. It fits four, fires three from the vehicle, and has a lot of bulk. The buggy, on the other hand, is great for solo trips or point-to-point jumps with lots of trees in between. But if you put a second passenger on the roof, you’re in trouble.

Under no circumstances should you load more than one person on a motorcycle. They’re not as fast as you think, and they’re a juicy target. In fact, they were killed three times during Awful Squad’s first deployment.

I called him when it happened in the chat. It was terrible. Don’t let that happen to you.

tactical parking

Last but not least, getting out of a vehicle safely is just as important as getting in.

Don’t drive straight out of a big city and get off. You’ve alerted all nearby players with the engine sound that you’re coming, and once they’ve seen your path, they’ll want to put their crosshairs on you.

Remember how I said sometimes you can find cars in garages? If you need to park near a city, park in a garage. But if you can, just park outside of populated areas, preferably in the hollow of a low hill where you’re protected on all sides. Then exit the vehicle as quickly as possible.

Once you’re in cover, mark the vehicle’s location on the map and, if you’re feeling smart, set up your own ambush for the curious to look for.
