Ladybugs and butterflies are our favorite insects – we have already shown you how to draw a butterfly and today we are going to learn how to draw a cute ladybug that looks almost like a cartoon.
This is one of the easiest insects to draw. With just a few basic shapes and strokes, you’ll get a gorgeous ladybug every time. If you want to add some simple decorations, why not draw some tulips as well? They are also very easy to draw!
How to draw a ladybug
What do you need:
- our printable template (optional, you can get it at the end of the tutorial)
- your favorite bookmark
- Dyeing accessories (optional).
Start by drawing a circle or an oval shape. This will be your ladybug’s body.
Draw a curved line from right to left.
Draw a straight line from top to bottom; Stop just before reaching the oval shape. Draw a small “triangle”.
draw points. It can be 7 because it’s the most popular number when it comes to ladybugs, but you can draw more or less if you like. If you draw 7, draw 1 between the two wings and 3 on each of the wings.
Draw the antennae and legs. You can make the antennae straight, curved, or even spiral.
Draw the eyes. Also draw points at the end of the antennae and legs. It will make your drawing even more cute.
Grab your favorite art supplies and color in your ladybug drawing.
If you want to give it some dimension, color it a little darker around the edges.
