We’re glad you love our drawing tutorials for kids! With summer temperatures we decided to make a series of tutorials on how to draw sea creatures (you saw our tutorial how to draw a fish step by step, it’s the easiest on the market).
Then comes the dolphin, the silly sea mammal. And also super smart. You may think that this animal is difficult to draw, but soon you will see that it is easy.
Once you or your kids master this “standard pose” (at least judging by all the dolphin pendants I see) they too will draw this animal in all sorts of different poses. Or add waves and sun in the background to make your drawing even cooler.
Ready to try? All I know is that you will make a wonderful drawing!

You can find our printable directional drawing template at the end of this drawing tutorial.
The first step is actually the most complicated, in the future everything will be very simple. We start by drawing a support. Start at the top, form a sort of “lying” U, and stretch the line a little more at the bottom.
Now do the curve for the back. Start with the right one and end with the left one.
Draw a pectoral fin.
Draw the belly.
Now draw all the other fins, another pectoral fin, and then the dorsal fin. Also draw the tail.
Finally, draw a mouth (we drew a cute smile on our little dolphin) and an eye.
You just learned how to draw a dolphin! You see, it wasn’t that hard at all. You can now add ripples in the background to make it look like the dolphin is jumping out of the water (a few water drops and splashes would also look good). You can also draw a sun in the background.
