What do you need:
- our printable directional drawing (found at the end of the instructions) – this is perfect for use in the classroom and is completely optional
- black marker or pencil
- Art supplies to color your drawing
Follow the drawing instructions step by step
Start drawing a circle. It doesn’t have to be a perfect circle, but do your best. This will be the head of the caterpillar you are drawing.
Draw antennas and facial features. You can keep it simple or add more detail.
Start drawing the body, draw a “half” circle shape, or rather the letter C if your caterpillar is facing away from us.
Continue drawing the half circles or letter C for the body. Draw as many as you want, the more you draw, the longer your caterpillar’s body will be.
Draw the legacy. You will need one pair for each “circle” (not including the head). One line for the leg should be shorter than the other (this will be the back leg).
Just a few details! Draw ellipses or dots at the ends of the legs to make adorable little feet. Also draw a small semicircle on top of the last circle for the body.
Congratulations! You just learned how to draw a caterpillar!
Now all you have to do is color your drawing.
