The Honda City e:HEV hybrid is finally available in India priced at 19.50 lakh (ex showroom, India). It’s available in a single premium ZX version that’s almost 4.5 lakh more expensive than the standard City ZX. The Honda City e:HEV hybrid sedan will be manufactured in India at Honda’s manufacturing facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan and will be delivered to Honda shortly.   1. The Honda City e:HEV sedan is the first Honda car to bring its Honda Sensing technology or ADAS capabilities to India.
  2. It is powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson four-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors, which together deliver a maximum torque of 124 hp and 253 Nm.
  3. Honda claims the City Hybrid is 40% more fuel efficient than its petrol engine counterpart and has a claimed fuel economy of 26.5 kmpl.

    The interior of the Honda City e:HEV Hybrid has been upgraded with new upholstery and a hybrid-specific dashboard.

  4. The city hybrid also weighs 110 kg more than its petrol version.
  5. It was also updated with disc brakes on all corners and an electronic parking brake.
  6. The Honda City e:HEV hybrid sedan has three driving modes – EV, Hybrid and Gasoline and can run on electricity in EV mode.
  7. Appearance wise there are some very subtle design updates, while the cabin has been upgraded with new upholstery and a hybrid-specific dashboard. The remaining elements are taken from the ZX version of the petrol model on which it is based.

  8. In terms of equipment, the Honda City e:HEV Hybrid gets ADAS functions such as lane change assistant, pedestrian warning and adaptive cruise control via Honda Sensing.
  9. There is also Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Auto High Beams.
  10. Other safety features include six airbags, Honda Lane Watch, 360-degree camera and tire pressure monitoring.
