Toilet paper rolls are the most versatile (and cheapest) craft item we have on offer, so making some Halloween toilet paper rolls makes sense!
When it comes to crafts, there’s nothing quite like using recycled materials, and our collection of Halloween craft ideas for kids has many recycled projects.

We love using paper rolls for everyday crafts and holiday fun, like this trio of monster toilet paper rolls.
A little painting, some crafting and you have an adorable collection of Halloween decorations that are too cute to be spooky.
Grab your empty toilet paper rolls and let’s start making these party monsters!
Here are some ideas for a clever Halloween party:
A bandaged mummy (great for expired first aid bandages)
And a simple spirit, perfect for all ages.
How to make toilet paper rolls for Halloween
- Rolls of toilet paper
- Green, black and white craft paint.
- big eyes
- black beads
- white gauze bandage
- craft glue
- Black marker
Step by step instructions
First apply the base coat to each roller and let it dry. We painted our mummy black on the inside, Frankenstein green and of course white for the ghost.
Let your paint dry completely while you wait so you can paint another batch!
Once the paint is dry you can start adding all the fun details.
Ghost: As with the mummy, we’ll glue on the eyes, then all you have to do is draw over a moaning mouth with a black marker.
Mommy – Glue the googly eyes about ¾ inch up onto your painted roll and wrap in white cheesecloth. Make sure the eyes stick out a little! Glue each end.
Frankenstein: Frankenstein was so much fun creating, we glued little beads onto his “neck” but if you don’t have one handy you can use black buttons or small pieces of black pipe cleaner.
Glue on some eyes and draw Frank’s famous hair with your black marker, don’t forget to give him a mouth.
What other monsters can you create with your toilet paper rolls?
You can keep crafting them until you have enough to start Shattered Monsters!
