Egg Carton Flowers – Recycled Egg Carton Crafts

Recycled crafts are the best crafts. If you have egg cartons (or similar) lying around, use them to create these beautiful egg carton flowers. You don’t have to use the egg carton either, we use that term very loosely as a variety of cartoons do the same job: some coasters, chocolate egg cartoons…

In this simple tutorial you will learn how to make flowers from egg boxes and how to make beautiful flowers. These are suitable for many ages as they are quite easy to make and look very cute so will appeal to older kids (and kids at heart too).

Spring is the best time to make these floral designs and they also make a wonderful Mother’s Day craft as you can use them as canvas or even use them to decorate a Mother’s Day card.

How to make flowers out of egg boxes

What do you need:

  • Cardboard egg cartons or an alternative
  • livery
  • the glue
  • scissors
  • brush
  • canvas or cardboard

Step by step instructions

If you are working with an egg carton, cut out the “cups” – each indentation makes a cup. If you are working with another cartoon, e.g. B. a trivet, cut in the same way.

Cut out the sides of each piece, this is the first step in forming your egg carton flowers.

Also trim the leaves, stems, and a short, straight strip down the flat top of the egg carton.

*

Shape the sides, round them off. For this project you will need three cups, one with smaller “petals” and two with larger “petals”. So keep that in mind when shaping your petals.

If you are crafting with young children, just let them use a cup or two for a flower as it will be easier for them.

*

Roll the short, straight strip into a spiral shape.

*

Mark your favorite flower colors and paint all the petals. Don’t forget to paint the stem and leaves green as well.

*

*

Glue the rotated circle to the center of the smaller, shorter piece of flower.

*

Glue two egg cartons on top of each other.

*

Now glue the small piece in the middle of the two you glued earlier.*

You can leave the coiled spiral as it is or you can color it as well. Paint it in the color of the flower or in different colors.

*

Glue the flowers to the canvas (painted or white) or construction paper.
