A handmade Christmas card is always appreciated and it brings a smile to everyone’s face.
It’s a very easy project and you’ll always have a beautiful Christmas card no matter who makes it or what colors you use to make one.
How to make a Christmas card with 3D paper decorations?
What do you need:
- card base (you can do this on cardstock)
- black paper (plain printing paper or cardboard)
- different colored paper (plain printing paper is best)
- Round hole punch (you can also punch out circles)
Step by step instructions
Punch or cut out many circles from paper of the same or different color.
The size of the circles is irrelevant – use your map to measure them and see which size works best for you.
We cut 4 different colors for our project. There is no set number of circles for this project, the more you use the more complete your Christmas decoration card will be.
Set aside one circle.
*Fold the other circles in half.
*Take the bottom of the card and tape it to the circle you set aside earlier.
*Cut out a small black rectangle and glue it onto the circle.
*Also cut a long, super thin strip of black paper and glue it to the square.
Alternatively, you can draw these details with a black, gold, or silver marker.
Take the first folded circle, apply glue to the center and stick it to the paper circle glued to the card as shown in the image below.
*Continue with more folded paper circles.
*Add as many as you like so you can get a pretty good idea of what the final map will look like.
When you are happy with the size of your ball, apply glue to the other side of the last paper semicircle you glued…
*…and stick it on the bottom of the card.
Finished! You have created a beautiful Christmas card with 3D paper decorations.
*So easy to make, and if you have a paper hole punch it’s a super quick project too.
*This is also great for the classroom as kids love to punch holes in paper.
