Ready to make a bunch of ladybugs?
Cute Painted Ladybug Rocks
What do you need
- rock (obviously)
- red paint (acrylic works great
- Paint brush (we love sponge brushes)
- black permanent marker or black paint
- googly eyes
Start by washing the stones to remove any dirt or dust that may be on them. dry them. Paint them red after they dry, depending on the color you may need to paint the stones with a few coats of paint.
Once the paint is dry, use a black permanent marker or paint to draw a straight line down the center of the rock. Color the head black (color will make it easier), we used a Sharpie to draw the details, but it wasn’t that good at coloring the head, so we used another permanent marker (Stabilo). Draw the 7 or more dots on the wings: These little bugs can have many dots.
Glue on two googly eyes. Otherwise you can paint them.
If you are displaying these cute painted ladybugs outdoors, I recommend sealing them with varnish.
